valérie lasserre was born in ravensburg/southwest
germany in 1976. until 1996 she went to high
schools in kaiserslautern, aulendorf, biberach an der riss.
in 1994 she fotographed her first video,
a documovie (15 min) called black market.
the next two films she made (camera woman
and cutter) were about a poetic performance and an open
air music festival.
the 15minutes docuvideo against forgetting
(produced in 1995) won several awards:
1st award of the zdflogo editorial staff
(mainz 95), 1st award from the federal youth film
festival (potsdam 95, section totally real),
3rd award of the 1st bavarian youth film festival
(munich 95), encourage award of the pupils film festival
(reutlingen 96). for lost in illusions
('96) she was a co

the film got a money award: best debut film at the verden film festival
in 1997. in 97 and 98 she did practical courses: german tvstations
zdf, swf,
3sat. also at arri, munich (camera and postproduction). hans funck,
cutter of the cinema movie st. pauli nacht by sönke wortmann, edited her trailer made
for the jugendkunstschule biberach. in 1997 she cofounded the
multi media workshop in biberach and was
responsible for financial scheme and program. she produced
several cinema trailers and worked in screendesign.
1998 she studied at the academy for philosophy in munich. now she
lives in berlin, too, preparing for a career as an actress in an acting studio.
nevertheless she wants to become a film director.
